Weeks 34 and 35: Cauliflower and potatoes

Bountiful Baskets is always a surprise.
Which can be good or bad.
Bad when we got a bag of potatoes.
Their on my black list. (I'm a picky eater.)

But I have a potato lover in my house so the poor potatoes went to good use.

Week 34: Roasted Garlic-Rosemary Potatoes
from Our Best Bites cookbook

2 1/2 tablespoons EVOO
5 cloves minced garlic (I get mine from a jar)
2 1/2 tablespoons chopped fresh rosemary (from our garden!)
2 1/2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
Black pepper
1 1/2 pounds small potatoes
Salt

1. Boil potatoes in salted water for about 10 minutes, or until easily pierced with a fork
2. Meanwhile, combine EVOO, garlic, rosemary, mustard and a shake of black pepper in a bowl.
3. Preheat over 425 degrees.
4. When potatoes are done, drain and return to pan. Toss with the mustard mixutre.
5. Put potatoes on a cookie sheet covered with aluminum foil and sprinkle a little salt. Bake for 10-15 minutes.

Rating: I forgot the salt so the potatoes were only a solid 4. After the salt, Jacob bumped his rating right up to a 4.5. Not to shabby. I love garlic so much I almost had a bite. Almost.

Week 35: Pasta with Cauliflower

Cauliflower was another random BB pick. Neither of us are such a fan.

The recipe and photos can be found here.

Rating: 2.4. This was not a fan favorite. It was bland and not really anything. However, you could not taste the cauliflower so I am all about tricking myself to eat things I don't like. But this will not be made again at our house.
